Uhh, sorry no. Crit barrage is no where near as effective as splinter barrage. I've played crit barrage a lot and with the nerf/fix to sharpen daggers, you can forget it. As for rit barragers, I'm gonna have to laugh again. A ranger can use FW, I am the Strongest, BuH, and EBSoH, then throw on a splinter, and then SPAM barrage and do 100+ damage per arrow in HM on top of the aoe of splinter. I want to see a rit that can keep that up with the same survivability of a ranger. People seem to forget that rangers have 100 base armor against ele damage. Throw on a blocking stance or throw dirt and they're pretty golden.

Unfortunately, it really is. So maybe we finally hear each other Elnore. I've tried counter arguing on the ER thread, I won't even bother here.

Yes, crudely put but stop with the "only primary profession should be able to use this skill". Its bullshit, ruins the point with making builds. Barrage is fine, and with if it is with this mentality you want ER nerfed, I rather see it untouched just to spite you.

Guild Wars is about versatility! Rangers are meant to provide utility! Eles are meant to do damage! . . .Wait. . . Eles are at the lower end of the damage spectrum. . .

Not sure If I approve this buff/nerf, but rangers definately need something.

Condition spreading and rupting are great for PvE, right? (no)
And, rangers have plenty of possibilities for damage/frontlining that aren't clearly outshined by another class, right? (no)

Volley cuts your damage in half. IA? Really? How could you use IA in an effective PvE build?

It would be cool to have a good build that was actually more effective on a R/x than an x/R. The only desired roles for rangers in high-end PvP seems to be Splinter Barrage (better played by a rit) or EoE (better played by a rit).

Or, a rit can use FW, I am the Strongest, BuH, and EBSoH, then throw on a splinter, and then SPAM barrage (zealous mod) and do 100+ damage per arrow (actually, neither the rit nor the ranger would be doing 100+ damage with each arrow) in HM while doing shittons more damage with splinter than the ranger ever could. Splinter is where the real damage comes from.
Survivalibility is negligible if you have a competent monk and tank. And, if you're using Splinter Barrage, you most likely have a tank.

+8 damage from barrage or a slot for an elite skill that doesn't suck.
If you read IA, you shoot three arrows and are allowed to use a prep when you attack. IA does more damage than barrage if the foes aren't already burning or have natural resistance with 6+ WS invested.

Thats a hard comparison , i use IA a lot more than barrage or volley ( almost never use those ) and has near range , not adjacent so almost always hit 2 or more foes but thats on non balled mobs. I think both elites work in very diff ways and in diff terms of usage.
